7.18am: FTSE facing slow start The FTSE 100 is predicted to get off to a slow start on Wednesday, while the price of gold continues to outperform the stock market and reach new heights. On the futures market, the UK equity index has been called five points lower, after yesterday gaining almost 59 points to close at 10,207.80, within touching distance of recent record highs.
Both funds provide concentrated exposure—SIL to silver miners, IAU to gold. IAU is a significantly larger ETF and less volatile, as shown by its low beta and smaller drawdown.
Wall Street’s favorite momentum plays have hit a wall, and Dividend Aristocrat stocks like Roper Technologies (NASDAQ:ROP ) , Genuine Parts Co (NYSE:GPC ) , and FactSet Research Systems (NYSE:FDS ) could be the biggest beneficiaries.
